AddThis First Sharing Platform to Offer Fully Optimized Mobile Solution

Provides Social Sharing and Unified Analytics Capabilities for iPhone, iPad and Mobile Web Developers (June 29, 2011)

MCLEAN, VA -- (Marketwire) -- 06/29/11 -- Clearspring, provider of the largest online content sharing platform, announced today that its AddThis platform now enables publishers developing applications on leading mobile devices such as the iPhone and iPad to add social sharing capabilities and track how that sharing impacts application usage. For the first time, these publishers can leverage a unified view of online and mobile social sharing to better understand who their readers are and how to maximize traffic from social network referrals. AddThis is the first sharing platform to offer this functionality in a way that is fully optimized for the mobile environment, including native apps for the mobile web, making it easy for publishers to have a standard approach to measuring sharing. The company is also opening up a beta program for its Android API.

The U.S. has approximately 264.5 million data-capable device users,* and publishers are seeing a shift in traffic away from the desktop and toward mobile devices. "As mobile access increases, publishers have struggled to fully understand how their content is performing beyond the site," said Hooman Radfar, founder and CEO of Clearspring. "AddThis is the one platform you can leverage to measure and optimize sharing behavior regardless of how or through what device users chose to share the content."

AddThis for iOS and Android is easy for app developers to implement since it is designed and optimized specifically for mobile devices. Further, there is no additional work for publishers wishing to utilize AddThis on the mobile web. The same tool used for the website automatically works in the mobile environment, giving developers the ability to enable sharing to more than 300 services in more than 70 different languages across platforms. This eliminates the traditional complexity of delivering content on multiple platforms because developers can build once and deliver everywhere.

AddThis integrates mobile sharing data from native apps and the mobile web with all other sharing data in its unified analytics dashboard giving publishers a complete view of the impact of social sharing on traffic. Web-based sharing data can also be seen in a Live Feed that Clearspring recently announced. Clearspring will make this functionality available for mobile data soon.

AddThis for iOS is available for download now, and developers can sign up for the Android version due out this summer. For more information or to download the AddThis mobile APIs, please visit
