Acterna to Offer Interra Systems H.264 Analyzer

Agreement complements companies' test and management offerings (March 22, 2005)

Acterna, the leader in test and management solutions for consumer and business broadband communications, today announced that it has entered into an agreement with Interra Systems, a leading provider of customizable technology components and services, to offer Interra's new H.264 Analyzer. This deal allows Acterna to provide its global customer base the advanced audio and video analysis capabilities of Interra's analyzer.

"Acterna is committed to delivering test and management solutions that lower operational costs, drive efficiency, and ensure reliability when deploying services, so adding Interra's H.264 Analyzer to our video test portfolio globally is a natural fit for us," said Rob Shevlot, broadcast sales manager for Acterna. "Blending well with our own leading broadcast and broadband test solutions, the H.264 Analyzer will be an added value for engineers and evaluators responsible for ensuring quality and accuracy."

"Our agreement with Acterna is a strategic move to ensure our H.264 Analyzer reaches the customers and markets that make the most sense -- using Acterna's proven reputation, established relationships, and test and management expertise in the cable, broadcast, and telecommunications industries," said Ashish Basu, vice president of sales and business development at Interra Systems. "We look forward to working with Acterna to successfully market this exciting new product."

Interra's H.264 Analyzer is used in an offline environment to study audio/video elementary streams, complimenting Acterna's realtime transport stream analysis expertise. The H.264 Analyzer also studies a range of audio/video streams and verifies them for compliance using several digital media standards including H.264 (MPEG-4 Part 10 AVC), MPEG-2 Transport, MPEG-4 Video, MP4, 3GPP, AAC Audio, and AMR. Before introducing a product or application into the market, system developers and integrators are able to verify, debug, and troubleshoot standards and conformance-related problems.

Acterna's award-winning DTS-200 and the DTS-330 continue to provide leading test solutions that support the deployment of new services. The DTS-330 is deployed among some of the top cable and telecommunications companies, broadcasters, equipment manufacturers, and system operators in the world. The company was the first to introduce an MPEG analyzer (critical to successful deployment of broadcast services), the first to develop test tools to verify digital broadcast signals, and the only test and management solutions provider with the expertise to truly support the entire lifecycle of a digital service's deployment and continued maintenance -- ensuring accuracy, quality, and cost savings to "do it, or fix it, right the first time."
