Academy of Art College San Francisco Integrates REALVIZ Tools(July 25, 2001)
The college is the largest private school of art and design in the country and offers its students a chance to earn a BFA, AA, MFA and Certificate Programs in ten different majors.
Beginning in the summer 2001 term, the academy will provide its students with the opportunity to gain hands-on experience with REALVIZ' ImageModeler, MatchMover, Stitcher and ReTimer through an extensive 10-week course based on these applications. The seminar is titled "Imaged Based Content Creation."
ImageModeler allows 2D and 3D artists to create photo-real 3D models using simple photographs, without additional hardware or camera equipment. MatchMover is a camera tracking application that enables animation and special effects professionals to create seamless image sequences integrating live-action footage with computer-generated 2D and 3D elements. Stitcher enables users to create panoramic images up to 360 x 360 degrees to build virtual sets. ReTimer enables users to change the motion speed or length of image sequences in post-production.
REALVIZ also donated several copies of ImageModeler and Stitcher to winners of the Academy's Annual Spring Show. This long-term alliance will enable students to learn and have access to cutting-edge technology tools.
