San Francisco, California (PRWEB) January 05, 2012

iPhone fitness app developer, Abvio Inc. made New Years resolutions that much easier to keep with todays announcement that the top-rated GPS fitness apps for iPhone,Runmeter, Cyclemeter and Walkmeter, now support the first fitness-focused device built with Bluetooth Smart technology, Wahoo Fitness Blue HR Heart Rate Strap for iPhone 4S (purchased separately). Runmeter, Cyclemeter and Walkmeter are among the first wave of apps to support Wahoo Blue HR, which provides iPhone 4S users with detailed stats about heart rate, monitor calories burned, and more, as they run, ride, walk, hike, etc.

The addition of Blue HR support for iPhone 4S is the first of several app updates planned for 2012, and available just in time to help iPhone users set goals to get healthier and fitter this year. Runmeter, Cyclemeter and Walkmeter were designed to be entirely iPhone-centric, with no web site log-ins required and all workout data made to be easily exportable in multiple formats. The apps include popular social sharing features designed to motivate and inspire users to go farther and faster. Text-to-speech technology enables spoken replies from family, friends and coaches once workouts are posted to Twitter, Facebook and

Abvio announced the biggest update of 2011 in early October, which included support for the ANT+ system from Wahoo Fitness (also purchased separately). Wahoo Fitness ANT+ allows Runmeter, Cyclemeter and Walkmeter users to monitor heart rate, cycling speed, and cycling cadence for real-time workout feedback and post-workout analysis.

Were extremely excited about what the future holds for Bluetooth Smart technology. Wirelessly monitoring heart rate with the iPhone 4S is just the start, said Steve Kusmer, CEO of Abvio. We have been using the awesome Blue HR for a few months now. When combined with our applications abilities to record, display, graph, announce, and target heart rate, Blue HR will help iPhone 4S users incorporate heart monitoring into their fitness goals for 2012.

Visit Abvio to see a demo of the new Wahoo Blue HR support, and other new features, in the Mobile Apps Showcase, booth #818, at Macworld/iWorld. The show is held January 26-28, 2012, at Moscone Center in San Francisco.

Runmeter, Cyclemeter and Walkmeter 6.0 are all built from the same foundation, and come preconfigured for running, cycling and walking, respectively. Each app supports all features and activities. All three are available on the Apple iTunes App Store (iTunes link) for $4.99 (US). One voice, for hearing replies from Twitter, Facebook and, is included free. Subsequent voices are $0.99 (US) each via In App Purchase.
