Ableton Ships Live 2

Sequencer gains Mac OS X support By Dave Nagel
Ableton has released Live 2.0, an update to the company's sequencing software designed for live performances. The new version is available now for Mac OS 9, Mac OS X and Windows.

Live 2.0 adds multi-track recording and editing with a feature called "elastic audio," which allows users to set the tempo at any time during a performance. Users can also drop in recordings and loops that play in sync directly from the disk. In version 2.0, tempo changes are also recordable and editable as a continuous curve. Other new features include advanced automation handling, cross fading, relative session mapping, mapping of tempo and transport controls to MIDI or keyboard keys, presets for effects settings and new effects (Gate and Redux).

Live 2 is available now for Mac OS 9, Mac OS X and Windows for $399. Upgrade pricing is also available. For more information, visit
