AWS Has Accepted Newvem as a Technology Partner

(June 29, 2012)

SAN FRANCISCO, CA -- (Marketwire) -- 06/29/12 -- Newvem received Amazon's acceptance to its Technology Partner Network -- one of the most prestigious closed cloud networks. The cloud community at large can now accept Newvem as the premier leader in enhancing cloud usage effectiveness through data analytics.

According to Zev Laderman, Co-Founder and CEO, "Everything that we do promotes greater usage of Amazon Web Services. Acceptance into the AWS Partner Network is a true triple win: for AWS users, Amazon, and Newvem -- with AWS users by far benefiting the most. Our web application reveals problems and insights over a user's AWS cloud and directs these users to best practices, tools and other features that Amazon inherently provides in order to make an easier and more effective AWS experience. We see hundreds of our users becoming more efficient over AWS and, as a result, increasing their AWS usage."

Amazon provides an excellent cloud computing solution with pay-per-use service, state-of-the-art computing resources, and flexibility with the growing needs of a business. The problem is that many AWS beginners struggle to onboard, while advanced users can easily struggle with resource management over costs, availability, utilization and security. Every day, Newvem provides its beta participants with insights and recommendations to increase their cloud efficiency. For instance:

  • Cost savings -- in the last 24 hours alone Newvem has revealed more than $6,020,000 in potential cost savings.
  • Security -- Newvem has identified that 1 out of 2 users' clouds contain security vulnerabilities that could expose sensitive data.
  • Availability -- Newvem has notified 35% of users with 50-500 instances that they are running their instances under high load, which can result in availability risk.
  • On-demand vs reserved instances -- Newvem has identified that nearly all of its beta users can benefit from a 25% reduction in costs by moving specific on-demand Instances to reserved instances in line with their exact usage pattern.

This partnership provides significant value to AWS users, ranging across all levels of adoption and experience, in increasing their effective use of AWS, and as an outcome increasing their usage of AWS resources, services, and features. What is good for an AWS user is good for AWS and Newvem.

Of note, Newvem has the unique ability to show AWS users how they can fully benefit from AWS features, most notably Reserved Instances. The way that Newvem does this is by providing customer-specific usage patterns, allowing customers to make optimal tradeoffs in deciding what should be moved from on demand to reserved instances balancing flexibility, availability and cost.
