ATC Labs Introduces Recording Industry's First Automatic, Real-Time Software-Based Noise Reduction Product, ATC Labs AutoAudiATC Labs AutoAudioDenoizer Eliminates Noise in Broadcast, Studio Recording, And (May 15, 2008)
DMN Newswire--2008-5-15--ATC Labs, a global audio and speech technology development and services firm, today announced that it has introduced the recording industry s first automatic, real-time software-based noise removal and reduction product. The ATC Labs AutoAudioDenoizer will provide professional broadcast engineers, sound field recording engineers, audio restoration professionals, and forensic audio engineers, among others, with an easy-to-use software product that can perform real-time, on-the-fly automatic noise reduction (ANR).
The AutoAudioDenoizer will preserve the main signal characteristics of audio even while substantial noise removal is applied. It incorporates sophisticated tracking algorithms, enabling live recordings to filter out noise automatically. The product will be sold directly through ATC Labs and will be introduced at the Audio Engineering Society (AES) convention in Amsterdam, May 17-20. A free trial version can be downloaded at http://www.atc-labs.com/products/denoizer.
Based on a proprietary, patent-pending ATC Labs algorithm which employs state-of-the-art signal processing and psychoacoustic modeling techniques to perceptually weigh the audio and noise components, the ATC Labs AutoAudioDenoizer ensures that even under poor signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) conditions, there is no compromise or distortion of the original audio source during noise removal.
Noise reduction is more important to the recording and broadcast industry today than ever before, particularly with the proliferation of wireless and Internet audio capture, and the use of mobile and PC devices in electronic news gathering and remote recording applications, said Deepen Sinha, CEO and founder of ATC Labs. We have developed a psychoacoustically driven architecture for automatic adjustment and adaptation for removing noise, with the least manual intervention, and with least distortion to dominant signal sound.
Customers can literally set profiles for audio types and let the system run in a fire-up-and-forget mode; additionally they can also perform dynamic, on-the-fly changes as appropriate for their particular applications.
Key features of the ATC Labs AutoAudioDenoizer include:
· removal of broadband background noise including impulsive noises and clicks
· automatic continuous tracking and capture of changing noise profiles
· automatic detection of dominant signal sound and its preservation
· support for digital input/output for real-time operation
· automatic operation using multiple pre-set profiles
· options for tuning and saving user-defined profiles
· easy to use intuitive user interface and integrated user manual
· additional processing tools for reducing listener fatigue
The AutoAudioDenoizer can be used for noise reduction in mobile applications, live remote recordings, forensic applications with improved speech intelligibility, and audio restoration applications.
The product can filter HUM at 50 Hz-60Hz and has an option to remove harmonics of HUM, rendering a clean HUM-free audio. In addition to removing noise from corrupted audio, there are additional built-in tools, such as Incoherent Component Suppression (ICS) and Dynamic Listener Fatique Reduction (DLFR) modules that smooth and condition the audio for increased pleasantness and listenability, which is particularly critical in live applications.
The ATC Labs AutoAudioDenoizer has the look and feel of a traditional mixing console. For embedded applications, ANR API libraries are also available for Windows and DSP platforms. The product is sold for $1,499.00 USD for a single license, which includes free, unlimited updates. Attractive discounts are being offered for the first 100 licensees.
