APWMayville to Introduce PowerOptions for Stantron Racks at NAB2006Updated power strips bring unparalleled versatility to rack integration (March 28, 2006)
APWMayville, manufacturer of Stantron racks and enclosure solutions for the broadcast, audio/visual, and datacom markets, will introduce PowerOptions at the upcoming NAB2006 convention (Booth #SL2132, Las Vegas Convention Center, April 24-27). The PowerOptions family is a full range of isolated-ground and standard-ground power strips and power distribution units that increase versatility in the design and integration of rack systems. In television and radio broadcast facilities, PowerOptions is at its best when integrated with the enhanced Stantron Broadcast Rack, also to be introduced at NAB2006.
PowerOptions feature the small footprint and isolated ground options that broadcast integrators demand for densely-packed cabling installations. PowerOptions include vertically mounted zero-U designs (14 outlets and 20 outlets) and isolated ground 1U rack mount models (12 outlets). All designs have a variety of power input options, including twist lock, straight blade, and convenient flexible BX-conduit for hard-wire installations.
Flexibility of installation is one key improvement over competitive products. PowerOptions is delivered with unique brackets to fit power strips into the full range of Stantron rack sizes, reducing the number of parts the integrator must order and inventory. Also, the unique mounting brackets eliminate the headaches related to relocating the power strip within an existing rack. The flexible mounting system means that only minimal adjustments are needed to reposition the power strip on the racks internal rails. Integrators and engineers who typically cable-tie power strips at multiple points to avoid the pains associated with power strip adjustments can put an end to those hassles.
In addition to the compact design and unique mounting brackets, the PowerOptions receptacles can be rotated 90-degrees to accommodate transformers, which would otherwise block adjacent outlets on the power strip. The rotated receptacles allow all outlets on the strip to be utilized regardless of transformer presence, all while keeping the length of the power strip to a minimum. Integrators and broadcast engineers can be confident that PowerOptions will handle the power required in each rack without running out of space or the need for mounting outside of the enclosure.
?PowerOptions brings new versatility to systems integrators and broadcast engineers building out a modern equipment room, said Daniel Eder, President of APWMayville. ?These user benefits offer a significant improvement over past designs and surpass the flexibility of competitive products on the market. PowerOptions is also aesthetically pleasing with a high-quality design and unique profile that allows the power strip to rotate so it faces into the cabinet or toward the front or rear for maximum accessibility.
Pricing for PowerOptions begins at $100, and the range accommodates 15 and 20 amps of electricity. All products are UL listed and are available with isolated ground options.
