ALAP Ships ImageAdjuster for Quark

New XTension provides color correction tools By Shay Moftakhar
A Lowly Apprentice Production has released a new XTension for QuarkXPress. The XTension, ImageAdjuster 1.0, allows users to apply color corrections to RGB, CMYK and grayscale TIFF images directly within QuarkXPress via color adjustment layers. The software is available now for Macintosh and Windows.

ImageAdjuster provides a number of models for color correcting images. These include levels, curves, color balance, brightness/contrast, hue/saturation, selective color, channel mixer, invert, threshold, posterize and color fill. Each of these adjustments can be previewed in real time.

The XTension also supports various compositing modes, including normal, dissolve, multiply, screen, overlay, soft light, hard light, color dodge, color burn, darken, lighten, difference, exclusion, hue, saturation, color and luminosity. These blending modes can be combined with opacity and applied to each color adjustment layer individually.

Color correction sets can also be saved and updated for future use on images within the same document or different documents. ImageAdjuster 1.0 requires QuarkXPress 4.1. It sells for an introductory price of $79.99. For more information, visit
