AK.TV Passes Beta Testing of CinemaWEAR EncodingKanakaris Wireless Global Interactive TV Channel Moves Forward (July 16, 2001)
Over a 72 hour period, AK.TV broadcast an around-the-clock schedule as part of an operating simulation (accessible to the public at AK.TV.) to verify the stability of the channel's delivery mechanism. AK.TV successfully passed the first and most stringent phase, which was focused largely on the overall technical platform of AK.TV.
"Now that the first phase of beta testing has been successfully completed, AK.TV will now enter an enhancement phase were we will add increased features and functionality designed to increase the overall media experience," said Chief Technology Officer Robert Wood.
With the pending launch of AK.TV, Kanakaris Wireless is building upon the advances of its proprietary CinemaWEAR encoding process. CinemaWEAR encoding is being used in three different versions to drive AK.TV:
1) CinemaWEAR encoding for 56k to ISDN to Broadband viewing of video 2) CinemaWEAR encoding for Pocket PC viewing 3) CinemaWEAR LIVE encoding for live webcasts at multiple access rates
Kanakaris Wireless will be offering CinemaWEAR encoding to both consumers and business and has begun selling ad sponsorships to AK.TV. Kanakaris will soon begin offering the sale or products linked to AK.TV content by its proprietary EEC -- Embedded Electronic Commerce -- technology.
