AJA President Nick Rashby discusses HD and editingBut if you want to know what the company will be showing, you have to visit the booth April 16 at 10am
Nick Rashby, president of AJA, discusses the market for HD editing solutions and gives a brief glimpse of what AJA will be up to at NAB.
DMN: What new products and solutions will AJA demonstrate at its booth?
Nick Rashby: Like last year, AJA has two booths, one upstairs for our Converter product line, and one downstairs for our Desktop products. When you come to our Desktop booth you'll find out the we have lots of exciting new technologies being announced at the show, and you'll be certain to see the latest and greatest in our KONA, Io, and XENA lineup. We're right across the aisle from Apple, so you can't miss us!
In our converter booth, we have a new and very requested mini-converter being announced, as well as a major new conversion product that offers new features and capabilities we've never had before in a new form factor...its very cool.
DMN: How has the market for HD editing solutions evolved over the last year? Are more facilities adding HD to their pipelines?
NR: Definitely, especially overseas. We have seen a surge in our HD business, and we expect the remainder of 2007 to continue that dramatic push, especially after all of the new goodies are unveiled at NAB.
DMN: How is AJA settling into the HD market? Has the market for standard definition shrunk in the face of HD, or is SD holding its own?
NR: AJA was on-board with HD very early on, with our mini- and rackframe converters, and our KONA line for OSX. We have a solid product lineup that not only supports HD, but seamlessly bridges the SD and HD worlds. SD is not going away any time soon, and our products allow users and facilities to integrate legacy gear and formats into today's and tomorrow's pipelines.
DMN: What is the must see product or technology demonstration to see at the AJA booth SL6113?
NR: On April 16, at 10am PST, I can talk about it all! There's big stuff from AJA this year...its gonna be a great show.
