ADT Ships K-Series RAID

Ultra160 systems support up to 200 MB per second By Dave Nagel
Advanced Technologies and Systems Co. has started shipping its new K-Series rackmount RAID systems. Designed for bandwidth-intensive applications, such as SD and HD video editing, the systems reach speeds of 110 MB per second on a single SCSI bus and more than 200 MB per second on a dual bus host.

The systems include an Ultra160 SCSI interface in single- and dual-channel configurations and can store eight hours of video on each 720 GB cabinet. The systems are expandable to 18 TB for 240 hours of uncompressed SD video.

The six-bay systems support RAID 0, 1, 3 and 5, and the drives are hot-swappable and accessible from the front panel. The K-Series supports Mac OS X and OS 8/9, as well as Windows systems. Pricing on the K-Series 200 GB, 400 GB and 600 GB units is $2,999, $3,299 and $4,306, respectively. The systems are available now. For more information, visit http://www.adtx.com/english.
