65 Companies to Exhibit at UK Pavilion at NABUK pavilion sees increase of 40% from last year (April 13, 2005)
The largest UK group will be at this years NAB in Las Vegas from 18-21 April 2005. The UK pavilion has seen an increase of 40% from the NAB 2004 event, 65 companies will be exhibiting with financial support from UK Trade & Investment.
The National Association of Broadcasters Show offers UK companies endless opportunities to create new business and rewarding partnerships, the UK represents a cross section of products and solutions from the entire Broadcast sector and NAB is the perfect platform to present new products to a US audience.
One of the main attractions on the Audio Processing Technology stand will be the newly released WorldNet Oslo, a modular, multiple channel audio codec.
Designed to transport audio and data over various digital networks such as T1, E1, TCP/IP and ISDN, the flexible system architecture and a variety of options make the unit highly customisable and allow for future expansion as needs evolve. Network infrastructure savings are possible, says the company, by allowing audio and data to be sent simultaneously via an E1/T1 circuit. Power and transport back-up options are available for use in mission critical environments. A recently added feature is the ability to synchronise multiple channels together, allowing transport of 5.1 content and ensuring that all channels are phase exact.
Also new from the company is an expanded feature set for its WorldNet Rio system. In addition to the standard and enhanced apt-X algorithms, the system now incorporates Mpeg Layer II and III for increased compatibility with other audio codecs. An SNMP option for remote operations is also available.
Several new products designed to improve the productivity of broadcast engineers, post-production editors and image processing scientists will be showcased
OmniTek PQA is a PC-based picture quality analysis workstation that performs real-time PSNR and other quality measurements on all SDTV and HDTV video formats. Reference and test moving images sequences can be played from an internal uncompressed video player or via SDI connections. Time delays between input images are automatically compensated, and all graphical and tabular results can be stored and cross-correlated.
A new video analyser, the OmniView XR, provides a full range of waveform displays. HDTV video signals can be examined at one-pixel-per-pixel resolution, with 256 times oversampling filters providing display accuracy.
Completing the companys range of 4:4:4 dual link signal generation and analysis tools is the OmniGen Dual-Link. It can create images or full-motion sequences in any 4:4:4 video format, or alternatively the system can operate as two independent 4:2:2 generators for video+video or video+key operation.
An integrated media asset and workflow management solution designed for the broadcast and media industry, will be demonstrated by TransMedia Dynamics.
Called Mediaflex it is a modular and highly scalable system that can be implemented in a phased and controlled approach. The integrated workflow management engine has been designed to intrinsically link the media associated with jobs and tasks to the resources used to carry them out. Additionally it provides a complete audit trail of when and where the work was carried out, as well as the resources that carried it out. Workflow schedules can be viewed in a number of formats, including individual users, departments, facilities and on a company-wide basis.
Enhanced user applications incorporated into the system include: media bookings; compliance editing; sub-title preview; and logging/annotation.
Adder Technology, manufacturers of KVM switch, extender and IP solutions, will be highlighting a variety of new and improved products AdderLink X2 is a new range of extenders offering extra-fine video quality and skew compensation, while the AdderLink X-USB extends USB and high definition video up to 390 ft. New and improved features have been added to the upgraded AdderLink IP, which will also be on display.

Comments Stuart Clarke, Senior Project Manager of Trade Fair Support Ltd ?Following the success of the group who exhibited here last year, we feel sure that the 2005 event will continue to prove to be an effective vehicle for UK companies to gain recognition and partners. We are confident that our group of exhibitors will once again demonstrate the UKs ability to produce world-class products and services to meet the needs of these important markets.
The UK group is organised by Trade Fair Support, on behalf of Intellect, the trade association for the UK information technology, telecommunications and electronics industries. The venture is backed by UK Trade & Investment, the UKs export and inward investment promotion body.
