4medica Hits Milestone: 27,000 Providers Now Have Access to 30 Million Electronic Patient Records4medica's Cloud-Based Enterprise Master Patient Index Enables Seamless and Secure Exchange of Health Information (February 21, 2011)
ORLANDO, FL -- (Marketwire) -- 02/21/11 -- HIMSS Booth #4371 - 4medica, provider of the industry's leading cloud software-as-a-service (SaaS) clinical integration platform, announced today at the 2011 Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society (HIMSS) Conference and Exhibition that hospitals, laboratories, imaging facilities and other healthcare organizations are relying on its Integrated Health Record's (IHR) Enterprise Master Patient Index (EMPI) to provide 27,000 providers access to more than 30 million unique electronic patient records. This reflects significant and accelerated growth in 2010 for 4medica. Based on current implementations, the company projects double-digit growth in the number of practitioners and patients served by the end of 2011.
"We are pleased to reach these significant milestones," said Oleg Bess, M.D., 4medica's CEO. "Organizations are selecting our IHR because the robust master patient index enables them to manage care, eliminate duplicate records, ensure accurate patient identification, create patient-centric records and establish private health information exchanges (HIEs) more cost effectively. They are using our mission-critical technology to build stronger ties with referring physicians by making it easier for doctors to do business with them and to gain flexibility to exchange data with any facility or physician in the U.S."
Unlike competing solutions, the IHR's EMPI does not limit access to data within an enterprise, region or a particular HIE thanks to its cloud-based architecture. Hospitals and other healthcare facilities using the system can share information, including demographics, medication lists, prescription refill histories and images, with any institution or doctor in the country as long as they have patients' permission.
In addition to demonstrating the IHR's EMPI at its HIMSS booth #4371, 4Medica will provide a preview of its mobile applications that will enable physicians to access laboratory results, prescriptions, patient contact information and other ambulatory and inpatient data stored in its IHR via their iPhone, BlackBerry or smart phone running the Android operating system.
"Providing a mobile offering underscores our strong commitment to supporting hospitals' strategic physician relationship initiatives, providing doctors greater flexibility for accessing information and extending the reach and value of integrated data provided by our IHR solutions," stated Dr. Bess.
4medica provides the industry's leading cloud software-as-a-service (SaaS) clinical integration platform, the Integrated Health Record (IHR), to hospitals, health systems, physicians, labs, radiology and pathology clinics, and care delivery networks (ACOs, HIEs, RHIOs). The IHR facilitates health information exchange by building upon existing healthcare technology to improve access to critical patient data. The platform is powerful yet intuitive and was natively designed for clinical data interoperability with all leading systems encountered within different care settings. 4medica continues to build on its success in connecting more than 100 institutional customers with more than 27,000 physicians.
