3Dlabs Wildcat II 5110 Sweeps SPECviewperf Benchmarks

(August 29, 2001)
3Dlabs, Inc. Ltd. announced that the Wildcat II 5110 professional graphics accelerator swept all six of the most recently published SPECviewperf 6.1.2 benchmark tests, the industry's most widely used standard for measuring OpenGL graphics performance.

3Dlabs' Wildcat II 5110 set new performance records in all six of the application datasets, outperforming the competition by wide margins in nearly every test. In fact, the Wildcat II 5110 outperformed its nearest competitor by up to 68 percent in the AWadvs-04 portion of the benchmark, posting an all-time record score of 224.77.

Fastest Published Competition's Nearest Wildcat II 5110

Wildcat II 5110 Score Published Score Is Faster By

AWadvs-04 224.77 133.46 - FireGL4 68%

DRV-07 37.97 31.24 - FireGL4 22%

DX-06 54.15 43.81 - FireGL4 24%

Light-04 12.69 11.65 - Quadro2 Pro 9%

MedMCAD-01 54.07 44.95 - FireGL4 20%

ProCDRS-03 54.50 53.23 - FireGL4 2%

In addition, the Wildcat II 5110 outperformed all competition in the APC application-based CAD benchmarks - racking up more record-breaking scores in Pro/Engineer 2000i(2), SolidWorks 99 and Unigraphics V15.

Such OpenGL performance is critical for design engineers, DCC professionals, scientists, and visual simulation professionals, allowing them to maximize their creativity and productivity.

The performance-leading scores were achieved on two Pentium 4 processor-based systems: the Dell Precision Workstation 330 and the IBM IntelliStation M Pro.
