2d3 Releases Boujou 2.13D camera matchmoving software gains Mac OS X support
Boujou, used widely in commercial, television and film work, is designed for tracking camera or object movement. The new version extends the system's abilities with a redesign of the application's engine for more accurate results. The company also says the new version is several times faster than previous releases and that it also incorporates advanced tools and an enhanced workflow, with new intervention features that allow users to tailor tracks to their needs. Adjustments can be made with "minimal additional processing, and without the need to re-track entire shots," according to the company. The suite also allows users to take advantage of Target Tracks, Gold Tracks, locator, matte painting and lens-distortion correction features.
Version 2.1 also adds support for import formats including MOV, AVI, Cineon, JPEG, PGM, PPM, Softimage PIC, SGI, TGA, PNG and TIFF. Camera path and 3D geometry can be exported directly to common animation packages, while 2D tracks can be exported to products such as Shake.
Boujou 2.1 supports Mac OSX, Linux and Windows platforms. The Mac OS X version is available now for download. Boxed versions are expected next week. FOr more information, visit http://www.2d3.com.
