David Nagel Macromedia today announced the release of Dreamweaver UltraDev 4 Fireworks 4 Studio. The Studio is a Web application development solution comprising the new Macromedia Dreamweaver UltraDev 4 and Fireworks 4 software, allowing for the authoring of server-side applications and graphics creation. Both the Studio and standalone versions of the products are available for download and purchase immediately from Macromedia's site. Dreamweaver UltraDev 4 has all the features of Dreamweaver 4, as well as new features specific to application building. UltraDev 4 enhances both code-level and visual authoring of Web applications using Microsoft Active Server Pages (ASP), Sun Microsystems JavaServer Pages (JSP) and Allaire Cold Fusion Markup Language (CFML). According to Macromedia, Fireworks 4 is tightly integrated with Dreamweaver UltraDev to "transparently manage the exchange of graphics, layouts and code between applications." UltraDev 4 ships with a library of pre-built ASP, JSP and CFML server scripts, with additional extensions available at the Macromedia Exchange. The UltraDev 4 Fireworks 4 Studio is priced at $699. The standalone version of Dreamweaver UltraDev 4 is priced at $599, with the standalone version of Fireworks 4 priced at $299. It's available for Mac and Windows.
