David Nagel Panopticum has released version 1.2 of its Rich Typing plugin for Adobe After Effects. Rich Typing 1.2 includes three filters for transforming text, and using text to create ASCII-like graphics from images. These include Rich Typing, Digitalizer and Morphing. Rich Typing is designed for making inscriptions, subtitles and creeping lines. You can use formatted text created in Word and saved in RTF file format or text that was placed into clipboard, including multi-page documents and text with color, various fonts and various types of formatting. There are more than 500 variants of text effects available. Digitalizer is a filter that uses text to to represent the luminosity and color of an image, converting bitmap graphics into lines of text resembling the original. Elements of the image can be figures, letters and any other symbols. Panopticum Morphing is a tool kit for the creation of text effects, such as morphing and other transformations. The module lets you transform one text object into another by using morphing or various types of symbol swapping. Text can be morphed in whole, line by line or character by character.
