David Nagel LaserSoft Imaging will be releasing new versions of its SilverFast digital imaging software to be called SilverFast SE and SilverFast DC-SE. The new "lite" versions are designed for imaging in the lower end of the scanner and digital camera market. SilverFast SE is designed to work with all major scanners, while SilverFast DC-SE can process data from all digital cameras. The software uses "intelligent" auto-adjust and LAB-Unsharp masking, which does not sharpen the color noise of single channels, but instead only sharpens the image's edges. SilverFast SE/DC-SE includes a real-time processing preview and major major features of the higher-end SilverFast Ai, including:
It also includes a wizard for novice users called ScanPilot guides the novice user through the optimum steps for brilliant images. SilverFast DC-SE can also be upgraded to SilverFast DC or SilverFast DC Pro with SilverFast IT8-Calibration and the SilverFast JobManagement. This allows for batch correction and processing multiple images on the fly. SilverFast SE and SilverFast DC-SE will be available tomorrow for $49 as a download from LaserSoft's Web site. It will be available for Macintosh and Windows. For more information, visit http://www.silverfast.com. Post a comment or question on the Creative Mac World Wide User Forum!
