David Nagel Media Lab has announced a price increase for its PhotoWebber software, a tool for creating Web pages in Adobe Photoshop. Beginning Dec. 1, the price will go up to $299, a $50 increase over the current price for the packaged version. (The download price is $199.) The company has also announced an update to the software to version 1.02. PhotoWebber is a stand-alone application that imports Photoshop files and converts them not just into Web graphics, but into Web pages. The program automatically converts a layered Photoshop file into a folder of graphics files in GIF, JPEG or PNG format with the HTML code to display them. It also adds interactive features such as links, buttons and rollovers. PhotoWebber maintains the integrity of original Photoshop designs with no loss of information. The software also works with Photoshop 6, though currently users will need to render out layer styles before importing Photoshop 6 files into PhotoWebber. The latest version fixes some bugs that were found when operating under Mac OS 8.1 and also improves the display of style sheets in Netscape navigator.
