Native
Instruments has posted updates to a number of its Mac audio titles, including
B4, Reaktor and Dynamo. An update of Pro-52 is also forthcoming.
B4 is
Native's tonewheel organ synthesizer. The B4 is a VST-compatible B3 and
rotating speaker emulator that the company says produces sound "virtually
indistinguishable from the original hardware." It's based on the
same NSP technology as the company's Reaktor modular system for synthesizing
and sampling sounds, as well as producing effects. Changes in the new
version, 1.1, include:
- Snapshots and any
buttons now are adjustable from the computer keyboard;
- Undo now works
correctly;
- Controller dump
inaccuracy fixed;
- Changing the Sample
rate in MOTU Digital Performer or in Digidesign Pro Tools doesn't change
the pitch of the B4 anymore;
- In ProTools now
there is also a stereo channel available for the B4 Input Plugin.
The new
version of Reaktor, 2.3.3, also includes a number of enhancements, as
well as bug fixes. Improvements include:
- The MIDI-Settings
dialog now allows filtering of specific MIDI events and MIDI through
for all incoming MIDI data.
- The MIDI send channel
automatically adapts itself to the Receive channel when altering it
using the toolbar's control box.
- Changing the Sample
rate in MOTU Digital Performer or in Digidesign Pro Tools doesn't change
the pitch of Reaktor ensembles anymore.
- There are some
improvements for Emagic Logic users that enable Program Changes as well
as synching Reaktor sequencers and tempo-based effects to the tempo
of the Logic song, although Logic actually doesn't support these functions
directly for VST plugins.
The Dynamo
update (version 1.0.3) adds several enhancements for working with Logic
Audio and Cubase VST. Changes include:
- The MIDI Settings
dialog now allows filtering of specific MIDI events and MIDI through
for all incoming MIDI data.
- The MIDI send channel
automatically adapts itself to the Receive channel when altering it
using the toolbar's control box.
- Samples and Sample
maps can be loaded directly in the VST plugin window by double clicking
the sample slots in the panel.
- Dynamo now sends
and receives MIDI data as a VST effect.
- Dynamo now runs
as a VST plugin under Logic.
- There are some
improvements for Emagic Logic users that enable Program Changes as well
as synching Dynamo sequencers and tempo-based effects to the tempo of
the Logic song.
- FreeMIDI and FreeMIDI
Interapplication support: you can select Dynamo as MIDI destination
in Digital Performer.
- MOTU Audio System
(MAS) Input Plugin support: stream Dynamo audio signals directly into
Digital Performer.
- Better OMS-Support.
- SoundDesigner II
file import.
- DirectConnect now
also works with ProTools LE (RTAS).
- The synchronization
of Dynamo's internal sequencers to Cubase's clock is improved.
- The pitch of Dynamo
instruments is no longer affected by changing the sampling rate of the
VST-host.
