Medea, Pinnacle Team up for Bundle
Hollywood FX ships with disk arrays

Medea and Pinnacle Systems have teamed up for a promotion offering Hollywood FX Bronze with the purchase of any Medea VideoRaid SCSI, VideoRaid RT or VideoRack RTX system. Hollywood FX Bronze is a 3D video effects software package that retails for $299.

Hollywood FX software consists of a set of plugins that enhance the special effects capabilities of most video content creation applications, including products from Adobe, Apple, Avid, Discreet, Media 100, Panasonic and Sony. Hollywood FX Bronze includes more than 100 3D transitions and multi-window effects that can be customized. The software provides features for flight path, lighting, shadows, shine, motion blur, trails and antialiasing. Effects can be customized by keyframing new flight paths for any object in an effect.

VideoRaid SCSI subsystems come in two- and four-drive configurations and offer 20 and 40 MB per second sustained data transfer rates respectively and storage capacities up to 160 GB. VideoRaid RT disk arrays sustains a data transfer rate of 65 MB per second and are available in capacities up to 450 GB. VideoRack RTX offers sustained data transfer rates up to 135 MB per second and storage capacities to 600 GB per 19" rack. VideoRaid subsystems attach to any SCSI equipped Macintosh, SGI (NT or IRIX) or Windows NT computer and use a single SCSI ID.
