David Nagel Aurora Video Systems has started bundling Medea disk arrays and ATTO SCSI controllers with its video capture systems. The bundle deals affect three digital capture cards, all of which will include one of Medea's four-drive VideoRaid disk arrays. The Aurora Video Systems Entry-Level, Pro Starter and Pro Capture bundles include Aurora Igniter or Aurora Fuse video capture cards, Medea VideoRaid SCSI disk arrays and ATTO Express PCI UL3D Ultra3 SCSI dual-channel host adapters. Aurora Igniter allows users to capture and play back video at 13.3 MB per second. Igniter features CCIR 601 video resolution and 16-bit, 48 kHz stereo audio along with the option to upgrade to Component I/O with balanced audio. Aurora Fuse is a PCI-based digital video capture card for G3 or G4 that offers capture rates of up to 9 MB per second. The four-drive Medea VideoRaid SCSI disk array offers sustained data transfer rates of 40 MB per second. The ATTO ExpressPCI UL3D is an Ultra3 SCSI dual channel host adapter that doubles the throughput of Ultra2 SCSI, while improving data reliability and optimizing interoperability.
