Pinnacle Ships SD Version of CinéWave
HD version due out in November

Pinnacle Systems today started shipping the standard-definition version of its CinéWave uncompressed video capture and editing system. The high-definition version, originally shown at the NAB convention in April, is slated for a November release. Both versions offer numerous output options, including DVD and streaming files. The SD version comes with Apple's Final Cut Pro; Pinnacle's own Commotion Pro; Hollywood FX Silver; the Targa Ciné engine; and the Pro Analog Breakout Box. The SD system runs $7,495.

According to Pinnacle, this initial release does not include dual-stream capture.

Features include:

• 4:2:2 or 4:4:4:4;
• Integrated Compositing, Effects and Paint with Commotion Pro;
• Native QuickTime;
• Realtime 3:2 pulldown for converting 24 FPS to 30 FPS;
• Selectable aspect ratio - 4:3 or 16:9;
• Selectable frame rate - 24/25/30;
• Simultaneous output of SD;
• Uncompressed Standard Definition - ITU-R.601, NTSC/PAL;
• Two Digital Tether ports for connecting to a family of breakout boxes
• Format integration including composite, y/c, analog component, DV, SDI, DigiBeta, uncompressed 601.

Features of the Pro Analog Breakout Box include:
