David Nagel Adobe today announced it will ship Photoshop 6 some time in the next month. Photoshop 6.0 offers dozens of new features, including integrated vector functionality, improved Web workflow and a streamlined interface. The new version will also ship with ImageReady 3.0, an upgrade to Adobe's graphics application designed for the Web. Here are some highlights of Photoshop's new features. We'll bring you more details later. We'll also be reviewing Photoshop 6 as soon as Adobe releases Photoshop 6 to the public.
Photoshop 6.0 will include a 30-day, fully functional trial version of Adobe GoLive 5.0 and the Adobe GoLive QuickStart Guide for Adobe Photoshop Users. Photoshop 6.0 customers can take advantage of a limited time offer to purchase GoLive 5.0 for just $99 until March 1, 2001. This price will only be available to customers who purchase GoLive through the installed trial software. Photoshop 6.0 for Mac OS 8.5, 8.6 and 9.0 is expected to ship in the third quarter of 2000. The estimated street price for Adobe Photoshop 6.0 is $609. Registered users of earlier versions of Adobe Photoshop can upgrade to version 6.0 for $199. This upgrade pricing does not apply to Limited Edition versions. French, German, and Japanese versions of Photoshop 6.0 will be available soon after the initial release, according to Adobe.
