2 megapixel camera for less than $500

Kodak today announced the latest adition to its DC line of digital still cameras. The DC 3400 is among only two cameras on the market now offering 2 megapixels of resolution for less than $500. The camera offers a 2x optical zoom (38 mm to 76 mm) and a 3x digital zoom. It also has a macro mode for shooting subjects as close as 9.8". A built-in electronic flash offers auto, fill and red-eye reduction modes and has a 9.8' range. It can also handle black and white and sepia image capture and comes with effects like borders.

  • Image Resolution: 2.1 megapixel—1,760 x 1,168 (High), 896 x 592 (Standard)
  • Image Quality Settings: Best, Better, Good
  • Lens: TTL AE Autofocus, 2x optical zoom, 38 mm to 76 mm, f/8.1-f/15.3
  • Focus Distance: Wide/tele: 1.6' to infinity; close-up mode: 9.8" to 1.6 feet'
  • Exposure Control: Auto: center weight, multi-pattern
  • Shutter Speed: 1/2 second to 1/755 second
  • ISO Equivalent: 100
  • LCD: 1.8" color review/preview display

The Kodak DC3400 zoom digital camera ships with an 8 MB CompactFlash memory card, USB and serial cables, serial adapter for Macintosh computers, wrist strap, lens cap, four AA alkaline batteries and all necessary capture software.
