David Nagel Alien Skin says it will soon release Eye Candy 4000, an upgrade to its popular Eye Candy set of Photoshop filters. The upgrade includes five new special effects filters and a wide array of new features, according to Alien Skin. Eye Candy 4000 will be released during the final quarter of 2000. A free public beta is now available for download from the Alien Skin Web site. Eye Candy 4000 contains the following special effects: Wood, Marble, Melt, Drip, Corona, Fire, Smoke, Chrome, Shadowlab, Bevel, Boss, Glass, Fur, Jiggle, Cutout, Motion Trail, Water Drops, Gradient, Glow, Weave, Swirl, HSB Noise, Star, Squint and Antimatter. New features include unlimited undo capability for all filters, new Bevel Profile and Color Gradient Editors, seamless tiling for texture effects, hundreds of tradable presets that create complex effects instantly, large previews that include underlying layers, real-world parameter units for creating resolution-independent effects and maximum support for RGB, CMYK and other image modes. All previous Eye Candy filters have new controls, and many have been completely reworked, according to Alien Skin. Thirteen of the Eye Candy 4000 filters are functional in the free public beta. Pricing for the full retail release of Eye Candy 4000 was not available. For more information or to download the public beta, visit http://www.alienskin.com.
