19 by David Nagel Maxon Computer today announced a new educational program that provides software and services, including a community Web site, instructional resources and reduced pricing for educators, students and administrators. This includes all education levels. Maxon's Cinema 4D XL, a 3D modeling, animation and rendering package, will now be available for $500 with enough licenses to cover an entire lab (50 workstations). Normally Cinema 4D goes for $2,195 per license. The new educational section on the Maxon Web site will be the primary contact point for the Cinema 4D education program. It provides a single location for educators to get ideas, as well as a place to showcase schools' and students' work. Maxon also says it will start adding two tutorials per month to its Web site.
