Aurora Capture Cards Bundled with Organic FX
Igniter, Fuse get effects package

Aurora Video Systems has started bundling Pixelan's Organic FX with its Igniter Mac-only video capture board. In addition, Aurora's Fuse board will be bundled with Organic FX Lite. Organic FX is a set of more than 250 fluids, bursts, erosions, ruptures, climatics, vapors, strokes, washes and live textures that visually evolve during the effect. Organic FX are derived from natural forms, rather than algorithms, a process that's supposed to create more natural effects. OrganicFX Lite includes 50 of the Organic FX effects.

The Igniter board, which sells for about $1,300, has a 13.3 MB per second data rate, onboard synchronized audio (up to 16-bit, 48 KHz stereo), full CCIR, CIF, QCIF resolution support, fully QuickTime MJPEG-A format compatible, custom PowerPC drivers written on a Mac specifically for a Mac, Ignition Control Panel to configure settings of the Igniter capture card. It's also available with an uncompressed option.

Other features include:

Video Previewer for taking a snapshot of the Mac Desktop (up to 720 x 486 window size) and displaying it on the Igniter outputs or NTSC monitor.
Fully compatible with Apple's Final Cut Pro.
G4 and Blue & White G3 Compatible.
Compression ratio: 1.5:1 to 50:1.
Frame rates: NTSC: 29.97 FPS, 60 fields per second; PAL/SECAM: 25 FPS, 50 fields per second.
Video I/O: Inputs One S-video, Mini-DIN, one composite, phono; Outputs: One S-video, Mini-DIN, One composite, phono.
4:2:2 YUV video format. Genlocking capability.
All outputs are simultaneously active during both capture and playback.
