Quark Inc. and Quill Communications have struck a deal to integrate Quark's Digital Media System with Quill's CATPUB Web management application. Quark describes the alliance as one that "will increase efficiency and margins for companies that produce and publish advertising, direct marketing, and manufacturing product catalogs in print and Web formats."

"This alliance marks the first entry of a turnkey solution for managing the entire process of providing, managing and producing content for businesses and their clients," said Dan Shahbazi, director of business development at Quill, in a released statement.

QuarkDMS is an enterprise-wide system that lets users manage text files, images and other digital resources. It combines the Oracle8 relational database with a scalable three-tiered architecture capable of serving hundreds of concurrent users. The QuarkDMS clients offer secure access to assets from both Windows and Mac OS platforms, as well as from standard Web browsers.

Quill's CATPUB is a Web application for managing workflow, content approval, tracking, and publishing. For more information, visit http://www.quark.com or http://www.quillcomm.com. A demo signup for the CATPUB/Quark DMS system is available at http://www.quillcomm.com/catpubdemo.html.
