Fuji's FinePix 1400 Zoom offers a 1.2 megapixel
resolution for $399.

Fujifilm
today announced it's started shipping the FinePix 1400 Zoom digital camera,
a 1.2 megapixel entry-level model.
Fuji calls the camera "the most advanced entry-level camera to date."
It comes equipped with a Fujinon aspherical 3x optical zoom lens (equivalent
to 39 mm to 117 mm on a 35 mm camera) and a 2x digital zoom, with a resolution
of 1,280 x 960. It sports one USB port and a 1.6" LCD screen. Controls
include playback/record, display, flash, menu/execute, cancel/back, zoom
and menu. All camera operations can be monitored on the LCD display. Other
features include:
- Macro mode
- ISO 125 equivalent
sensitivity
- Automatic focus
- Automatic shutter
(1/4 second to 1/750 second)
- SmartMedia storage
(up to 64 MB)
- JPEG file format
with three compression modes
The FinePix
1400 also carries numerous manual features, such as exposure compensation,
manual white balance (for specific lighting situations), flash on demand,
flash cancel, slow synch flash and red-eye reduction.
The Fuji FinePix 1400
ships with Adobe PhotoDeluxe Home Edition 3.0 image editing software. It
operates off four AA batteries. It's available now for $399. For more information,
