Emagic Ships MT4 MIDI Interface
USB MIDI device has two in/four out ports

by David Nagel
Executive Producer

Emagic yesterday shipped out the first units of its new MT4 USB MIDI interface. The MT4 features two in and four out ports and supports Macintosh and Windows 98. MT4 features a compact size in a light-weight non-slip casing. All inputs and outputs are independently addressable for a maximum of 32-channel input and 64-channel output.

The MT4 has two MIDI in activity LEDs and four MIDI out activity LEDs. It has a programmable patch mode that allows for stand-alone use as a MIDI patchbay. Using the included software, up to 32 patch configurations can be stored and are switchable via MIDI program change. Patch Mode is indicated by its own LED, as is USB activity. The MT4 is directly supported in the Logic Audio Mac series from Version 4.2 upwards and in SoundDiver from Version 2.1 upwards. It can also be addressed via OMS from Version 2.38 upwards.

The MT4 requires Mac OS 8.6 or higher (9.0.4 recommended) and a powered USB hub (for stand-alone use). Pricing information was not available at press time. For more information, visit http://www.emagic.de.

The MT4 from Emagic offers two in and four out MIDI ports for 32-channel input and 64-channel output.
