Multimedia has begun shipping version 5.0 of its SiteCam and SiteZAP Web
streaming suites. The Mac-only systems have gained real-time audio streaming
capabilities in their latest release. SiteCam 5.0 includes an integrated
Web server that can serve up pages featuring live audio and video streams,
live video snapshots and time-lapse QuickTime movies and archived images.
It also allows for video capture in a number of image formats at various
sizes, compression formats and quality settings, each labeled with text
and graphics. It also includes built-in FTP support, motion detection,
password protection, AppleScript support for custom automation, multi-camera
support and quick set-up guides.
SiteZAP, a remote-controlled
motorized pan/tilt/zoom system based on SiteCam 5.0, includes everything
in SiteCam, plus a Flash interface for administration and remote control
of the camera. SiteZAP comes bundled with a Sony Pan/Tilt/12x zoom camera,
I.R. remote control and extra cable. Optional heated enclosures for outdoor
use and other add-ons are available.
SiteCam requires a PowerPC
Macintosh with video capture capabilities. Streaming audio/video and Web
serving requires a static I.P. address. SiteCam sells for $149. SiteZAP
starts at $1,995. A full-featured trial version of SiteCam 5.0 is also
available for download at http://www.nuspectra.com.
