The Media 100 MediaPress Suite, introduced last month, allows for real-time MPEG-1 and MPEG-2 encoding, real-time preview during encode and real-time MPEG-1, MPEG-2 and DVD playback. The addition of Fusion SL, a new version of Sonic's DVD Fusion software, allows users to build menus, author interactive links, preview a DVD title and record the finished project to a DVD-R or DLT tape. The Media 100 MediaPress Suite also includes the ability to transcode QuickTime files to MPEG-1 or MPEG-2 and supports multiplexed audio and video. This allows nonlinear editors using Media 100 and other video editing systems to convert their edited projects to the appropriate DVD formats and then author them with DVD Fusion.
Other features of the MediaPress Suite include: support for 32 KHz, 44.1 KHz, 48 KHz, or 96 kHz audio sampling rates; elementary and multiplexed (Muxed) stream output; I-only, p-only, IP, IPB or IPBB frame patterns; and YUV, S-video and composite video input.
Sonic's DVD Fusion SL includes one video title set; one video angle; two audio streams; two subtitle streams; timeline asset layout; timeline edit of audio, video and subtitles; 99 chapter points per video track; subtitle generator; multiple subtitle colors; import subtitle bitmaps; import subtitle text script; unlimited number of menus; menu editor; auto-routing of buttons; next/previous button links; motion menu support; buttons over video; timed menu support; slide show support; still show support; audio behind stills; button number offset; write direct to DVD-R and DLT; emulation from disk; closed-caption support; drag and drop button links in layout view; 16 GPRMs for complex programming; access to DVD player system parameters; and playback disable of user operations.
