Retro AS-1 2.0, Unity 2.0 Now Shipping

has begun shipping Retro
AS-1 2.0 and Unity DS-1 2.0. Retro is a software virtual analog synthesizer
that works with or without MIDI equipment to reproduce the sounds of synthesizers
past. Unity is a real-time digital sampler. Both versions are available
for Mac OS, with support for Windows on the way. Both software suites
are optimized for the G4 Velocity Engine.
New features in Retro
AS-1 version 2 include:
- Increased voices
to 64;
- DirectConnect support
for ProTools integration;
- Stereo signal path
for oscillators and insert effects;
- More oscillator
types and improved oscillator resolution and fidelity;
- External audio
input to ring modulator, filters, and trigger;
- Stereo individual
channel outputs via Rewire;
- Ring modulator;
- More filter types,
slope, threshold, comb;
- Delay parameter
for all modulators;
- More insert effect
types, including pitch shift, multi-tap chorus, and degrade;
- Automatic publishing
of OMS and FreeMIDI names;
- More than 1,400
patches including presets by Sound Burst;
- Audio input/output
matrix for ASIO and Direct I/O devices allowing 32 separate channelized
outputs;
- Eight assignable
controller remappings: any controller to any other controller.
New
features in Unity DS-1 2.0 include:
- Increased maximum
number of voices to 128;
- DirectConnect support
for ProTools 5 integration;
- More filter types,
slope, threshold, comb;
- More insert effect
types including pitch shift, multi-tap chorus;
- Improved reverb
algorithm, (early reflections);
- Automatic publishing
of OMS and FreeMIDI names;
- Support for up
to 128 MIDI channels with OMS and FreeMIDI applications;
- Adjust sample tempo
without changing pitch;
- Sample markers
user-defined for oscillator stretching;
- Phat.Boy support;
- Load bank programs
individually;
- Eight assignable
controller remappings;
- Audio input/output
matrix for ASIO and Direct I/O devices allowing 32 separate channelized
outputs;
- Micro-tonal tuning
per program, up to 128 notes defined;
- Zone crossfading
in addition to version 1 cross switching;
- Editor can audition
through sample engine.
Registered users of
Retro AS-1 1.x can upgrade to 2.0 for $99. The full price is $259. Users
