A single VideoRaid fc or VideoRack fc disk array will sustain a minimum data transfer rate of 60 MB per second to support a single-stream of uncompressed video or dual-stream, real-time NLE systems at broadcast resolutions to 500 KB per frame. For applications such as HDTV that demand even higher sustained data rates, multiple arrays can be striped together to support the necessary bandwidth requirements. VideoRaid fc disk arrays are available in 90 GB, 180 GB, 270 GB and 450 GB capacities and have list prices of $2999, $4499, $5899 and $8499, respectively. VideoRack fc disk arrays are available in the same capacities and have list prices of $3799, $5299, $6699 and $9299, respectively. VideoRaid fc and VideoRack fc arrays will be available in July. On the audio side, Medea's AudioRaid SCSI disk arrays are optimized to support 64 tracks of 24-bit/96 KHz audio in a single desktop unit. AudioRaid SCSI is equipped with an Ultra2 SCSI Low Voltage Differential (LVD) interface that allows SCSI cable lengths to more than 12 yards and burst data transfer rates up to 80 MB per second. The unit attaches to any Windows NT or Macintosh-based DAW equipped with an Ultra2 SCSI host adapter. Modules can be daisychained together for storage capacities up to 4.5 terabytes. AudioRaid SCSI disk arrays will be available in May in 40 GB, 60 GB, 120 GB and 180 GB capacities and have list prices of $1599, $1699, $2899 and $3699, respectively.
