Epson Lowers Price on PhotoPC
Megapixel
camera sinks below $500

Epson
America Inc., Long Beach, Calif., has lowered the price on its PhotoPC
750z camera to $499. The camera offers a 1.25 megapixel CCD, 6x zoom (3x
optical, 2x digital), 12 MB memory and image enhancement technology that
allows it to capture images at 1,600 x 1,200 pixels (1.92 million pixels).
Other features include:
- 3x optical zoom to capture
photos from 34 mm to 102 mm.
- Quick Shot picture-taking
mode, which enables users to take a photograph within three seconds
of capturing the last image at a resolution of 1,280 x 960 pixels.
- Continuous Shot mode, which
allows for the capture of two 640 x 480 images per second (up to 16
images).
- 4 MB of internal memory.
- 8 MB CompactFlash card
- Solar Assist, which allows
the 2" LCD monitor to illuminate by direct sunlight.
In addition to the $100 price
reduction, Epson has also started a new rebate program this month. Customers
who purchase an Epson digital camera and any Epson Stylus Color or EPSON
Stylus Photo printer along with any Epson scanner will receive $100 back
by mail. Customers who purchase an Epson digital camera and any Stylus
Color, Stylus Photo or Stylus Scan All in One will receive $50 back by
mail. Another $30 rebate is being offered to customers who purchase any
Epson scanner along with any Epson digital camera. All of the Epson rebate
