Corel will begin providing full support to the products after June 30. Before then, MetaCreations will still be handling support. Corel says it will honor upgrade privileges of previous owners of Bryce 4, KPT 5, KPT 6, KPT Vector Effects and MetaCreations Painter 6, subject to proof of purchase and within applicable time limits. Corel says it has "ambitious plans" for the acquired applications, including upgrades this year to be available through the Web and retail. Painter 6.0.3 will be available as a free download patch soon, the company says. It will be posted for registered users at http://www.metacreations.com/products/painter6/patches. This deal leaves few products in the MetaCreations stable. Adobe acquired Canoma last month, leaving just Poser, Carrara, Infini-D, Ray Dream Studio and headline Studio up for grabs in the content creation space. MetaCreations has previously announced plans to divest itself of all traditional software offerings to focus on e-commerce solutions. We'll continue to bring you updates as they become available.
