The new reader can handle SmartMedia, PCMCIA Type I or II ATA cards and CompactFlash. It allows for hot swapping between cards. The IntelliFlash will carry a suggested retail price of $79.99. Viking also revealed that it would be shipping 640 MB and 1 GB ATA Type II cards in April, up from the current ceiling of 320 MB. Pricing was not available for these new cards, which are expected to be used more for government applications requiring solid-state storage.
