Imation Matchprint Coming as to Canon BJC-8500 Printer

Imation
Corp., Oakdale,
Minn., will offer its Matchprint inkjet system as an upgrade to the Canon
BJC-8500 in June. The system helps improve output on inkjet printers for
proofing in graphics and prepress environments. The Imation Matchprint
Inkjet System includes Imation Matchprint Color RIP Software and Imation
Matchprint Inkjet Commercial or Design Base media. Pricing will also be
announced in the second quarter. The system is currently available for
the Hewlett-Packard DesignJet ColorPro GA printer. Features include:
- Ability to define
user custom colors;
- Ability to automatically
proof files with up to 16 different color separations (CMYK plus twelve
additional colors) ;
- Compatible with
standard ICC profiles;
- Ability to fine-tune
output to Imation pre-defined and optimized print and proof simulation
targets;
- Configurable autoprint
folders, autorotation, and cropping;
- Spools, RIPs and
prints files simultaneously;
- Spools three jobs
simultaneously;
- Shows traps and
overprints;
- Supports all paper
trays and paper sizes, up to A3+ size or 13" x 19", for the
Canon BJC-8500 printer.
Imation Matchprint
Color RIP Software processes all major file types, including PostScript
2 and 3, PDF and CMYK and RGB TIFF. The RIP runs only on Windows NT systems,
but the BCJ-8500 is compatible with Macintosh.
