Hewlett-Packard Ships 2 Megapixel Camera

Palo
Alto, Calif.-based Hewlett-Packard Co. says it has begun shipping the
PhotoSmart C500 digital camera, which it unveiled last August. The camera,
which supports captures up to 2 megapixels, can bypass a computer and
print directly to a JetSend-enabled printer. H.P. says this is the first
time it's used this technology in a digital camera.
The H.P. PhotoSmart
C500 also features 3x optical and 2x digital zoom and a 2" LCD. It
works with PCs and USB Macs.
The digital camera
ships with a 16MB Compact Flash memory card, video cables, TWAIN compatibility
and a battery recharger. It ships with three AA NiMH rechargeable batteries.
The camera also includes H.P. photo-imaging software.

include:
- Glas lens;
- Wireless infrared
printing;
- Burst mode and
fast autofocus, which alows for the capture f a sequence;
- Accepts 37 mm lens
filters.
The camera is available
immediately with an estimated street price of $699.
