Cleaner Pro [continued]
Media Cleaner
Pro works in two ways: the wizard, which walks you through step by step, and the
advanced mode, where you choose the options you want to compress the media. If
you are just starting out using Media Cleaner Pro, I would suggest you use the
wizard, as it has the settings that are most often needed for that particular
purpose. During the wizard process, Media Cleaner Pro displays samples of how
the media will look at that compression and screen size, as well as giving options
for frame rate and target destination. An added bonus is to be able to assign
multiple settings to one file to generate several different files to see which
parameters you prefer.
In
addition to compressing media in a variety of formats, Media Cleaner Pro gives
the user several other options to enhance the media. When compressing QuickTime,
Media Cleaner Pro allows you to prevent the movie from being saved to a viewers
hard drive. By using Adobe Photoshop's (or other paint program) alpha channel,
the user can embed the company logo onto the video to ensure viewers know who
owns or created the file.
When Apple announced that QuickTime 4 would support the playing of MP3s, but not
encoding, Media Cleaner Pro added the Fraunhofer MP3 Encoder to allow users to
encode MP3s, batch process audio conversion and rip CDs.
Recently Media Cleaner Pro has added support for the Real Systems 8. Now Media
Cleaner Pro users are assured that all streaming media content created with Media
Cleaner Pro is optimized for RealPlayer 8, ensuring high quality streaming media
for this format.
Media Cleaner Pro also allows users to crop and trim movies to remove the unwanted
blanking regions of the over scanned image. Users have the option of choosing
between Manual and Numeric cropping in order to achieve the desired results. A
word of caution: Make sure you crop in multiples of four or 16, as many codecs
are optimized for movies where both dimensions are multiples of those numbers.
While Media Cleaner Pro is designed as a stand-alone application, it also works
in many video capture and editing systems, including Adobe Premiere, Media 100,
Avid and Adobe After Effects.
