APRIL 14, 2004 Motion Masks in DVD Studio Pro 2
Note: Some material files that are QuickTime movies used in templates are disguised so that they don't look like QuickTime movies. If this is the case with one of the masks you're trying to replace, the file will have either a generic document icon or a "Unix Executable" icon and will not have a .mov extension.  [an error occurred while processing this directive] If this is the case, you will have to remove the .mov extension from your own file's name as well. This is not simply a matter of hiding the extension. You must do the following:1. Paste the "mask name" onto your movie file. 2. Select the file in the FInder; right-click it; and choose "Get Info" (or select it and type Command-I). 3. This will call up the file's Get Info dialog. Here, you need to uncheck the "Hide Extension" option, and then manually remove the .mov extension from the end of the file name.  4. When you do this and then close up the Get Info window, you will get a warning asking whether you're sure you really want to change the file type. Click OK. If you wish to use the other two motion masks available for customization in your template, just repeat these steps. When you're done, close up the folders and launch DVD Studio Pro again. Apply your custom template to your project, and then set the assets(s) you wish to add to your motion buttons. And voila! Notice, by the way, that the left and right buttons are completely desaturated, and the center button is partially desaturated. We'll fix that now.
