Manipulating the geometry
Once you have your seen basically set up--you can always make changes later--it's time to manipulate your cube object. FOr this tutorial, we'll only be working with one object, so there's not a whole lot of work to do.

Now, there are several ways to approach the problem of roughing up or tweaking your geometry. One would be to go into the Tools workspace and manually push and pull at your object, sculpting it until you arrive at something you like. Or you can go into the FX workspace and use some of the predefined geometry tools there. For this tutorial, we'll use the FX workspace. To get there, click on the tab marked "FX" at the top of the main Amorphium interface. Then just click on any of the tools you'd like to use. I'm first going to apply the Cogs effect. Click the Cogs button, then drag on the canvas window. I'll first apply mine the the "Front" view.

And then to the Top view.

Then I'll do a little Twist, once again to the Top and Front views.

And then I'll do a little "Paint Clouds" effect for a little texture.

I don't want to do anything else at this point because if I go too far, it'll be difficult to get back to where i want to be. I can always go back in and tweak the geometry some more later if I don't like my final image. But I will go in and make my object semi-transparent so that I'll be able to view some of the external geometry from within my object. To do this, go to the Material workspace and adjust the Transparency value upward. In my case, I'm rendering on a black background, so the more transparent my object, the darker the overall effect. I'll start things off around 85 percent and adjust it down later if I don't like the result.

Now when I go back to the Composer workspace, here's my geometry.

And here's what I see from a quick render.
