Then we're going to add some lights to our scene. Select the Parallel Light button in the tool palette, and draw three additional lights somewhere in your scene. I'm placing mine near the center and facing them in different directions. ![]() [an error occurred while processing this directive] I'm also going to want to apply colors to the lights in my scene. I won't be working with textures in this particular tutorial, so lighting will be my only source of color. In order to change the color of your lights, go down to your timeline window and right-click (or Control-click) on one of your lights. Select "Properties" from the contextual menu that pops up. ![]() In the dialog that shows up next, go tot he Color tab, and adjust the color of your light. ![]() Now draw a large mesh cube onto your scene. This will be the object we'll be working with for the rest of this tutorial. We're using a mesh cube rather than, say, a Tin cube, because it simply works out better with the types of effects we'll be applying to this object. ![]() We'll want to increase the "resolution" of our mesh as well because we're going to be tweaking the cube's geometry pretty dramatically. In order to do this, select the Meshman Quad tool from the tool palette. Then use it to click on your cube to increase its resolution. ![]() Now we're ready to start manipulating our geometry.
