And it includes automatic bullets and numbering, which are applied either through the PageMaker palette or through the Paragraph palette via a Bullets and Numbering dialog. The dialog provides control over the type of list, as well as font family and style, color, size, position, indentation and tab position. It also allows for the use of glyphs from separate fonts to be used as bullet characters. (The example below show the Bullets and Numbering dialog, as well as the dialog for adding new glyphs for bulleted lists.) ![]() The bottom line InDesign CS is a mature and powerful page layout and design tool. For those of you looking to switch from your current system, I give it a Strong Buy recommendation without qualification. It's just an excellent system. For those of you looking to upgrade from InDesign 2, I give it a Buy recommendation; it doesn't have any new features that you could really refer to as major, but it is an improvement over the already feature-packed 2.0 release for its workflow enhancements and wealth of minor new feature additions. As for the PageMaker Plug-In Pack, I also give that a Buy recommendation. The price is reasonable, it it gives you some decent new workflow and production tools, especially the data merge and imposition capabilities. Adobe InDesign CS is available now for Mac OS X and Windows for $699. The InDesign CS PageMaker Edition sells for $349 for those who have a PageMaker license. The PageMaker Plug-In Pack alone sells for $49. For more information, visit http://www.adobe.com.
