ALAP Updates ShadowCaster
New version improves image handling

A Lowly Apprentice Production (ALAP) has released ShadowCaster 3.2.1, an update version of the company's effects XTension for QuarkXPress. The new version gains enhanced image handling capabilities and also adds fixes for a variety of issues found in previous releases. It's available now for Mac OS 9, Mac OS X and Windows.

ShadowCaster creates drop shadows within QuarkXPress with a single click, providing six different types of shadow effects. The effects can be applied to any object, including text and images, and include control for opacity, blur, intensity, color and blend modes. The new version gets improved handling of BMP images and anchored items, as well as the ability to save effects in PICT format. It also adds several fixes for displaying and manipulating images, as well as cosmetic enhancements for the QuarkXPress 6 version.
