Creating a bevel I want to add some weight to the shape of the spline, so I'll leave constrain off. On the start, add a fillet cap and set the fillet type to "1 Step." Adding radius to the fillet size, creates a greater difference in the steps. Set the radius to 12.[an error occurred while processing this directive] ![]() Extracting shape data The because we left the constrain feature off in order to get a bulkier shape, we to find the new borders of this extruded geometry. Simply scaling the original spline points will not create the correct shape. While you may want to move the points manually, your original spline's shape may make this a laborious, if not impossible task. There are two easy methods you can use to acquire this shape data. Method 1: Outline the spline An imperfect method of finding the edge of your new extrusion is outlining. In the front view (F4), you can see the original spline and the NURBS extrusion together. ![]() The extrusion is 12 units (radius = 12) from the original spline (no constraint). If we select the spline shape, we can create an outline. Select the Active Tool window and select "Create a New Object" and enter a distance of 12 units (=radius). A new spline will be created, roughly the same shape as the extrusion's edge. ![]() ![]() As you can see in this image, the edges don't truly match.
