In terms of more major functionality, the PageMaker Plug-in Pack also adds imposition and data merge capabilities. Imposition is handled via InBooklet Special Edition, a version of the imposition plugin InBooklet from A Lowly Apprentice Production (ALAP). InBooklet SE operates from the File menu and provides imposition capabilities from 2-up saddle stitched to 4-up consecutive. It can impose documents during the print process or can save new versions of the imposed document for later use, without affecting the original document.

InDesign also gains data merge functionality via a new Data Merge palette. Data sources (tab- or comma-delineated) are selected within the Data Merge palette, and fields can then be dragged to frames or text insertion points in the open document.

It also includes various options for fitting content from data sources.

To bring back some of the PageMaker experience to InDesign, the Plug-in Pack also adds a PageMaker palette to the interface, providing quick access points for creating new documents, opening, saving, printing, performing common functions and jumping to other Adobe applications.

And it adds a new Position tool to the Tool palette. This tool functions in a way similar tot he Crop tool in PageMaker, allowing for moving and resizing images within their frames.
