Download and installation
This week's brush collection is compressed using Stuffit from Aladdin Systems. The Stuffit Expander is a free utility for Macintosh, Linux, Windows and Solaris that can be downloaded here. Chances are you already have it on your system. If not, download and install it. You can also configure your browser to decompress files of the ".sit" type automatically using Expander.

Download: Nagel Series 5 Illustrator Brushes (332 KB)[an error occurred while processing this directive]Once you download the brush file (NagelSeries5Brushesb.sit), double-click the file to decompress it, or drag it over the Stuffit Expander application icon. After the file is decompressed (NagelSeries5Brushesb.ai), move it into the Brushes directory in your Illustrator folder (/Adobe Illustrator 10/Presets/Brushes).

Then launch Illustrator. Select Window > Brush Libraries > NagelSeries5Brushesb, and the collection will appear in a new palette.

To use these, simply draw a stroke or shape, and apply one of these brushes in place of a standard stroke. These can be tinted and shaded just like any other element in Illustrator, and you can modify the way they behave simply by double-clicking the brushes within the Brushes palette.
